Hire Terms & Conditions
In these terms and conditions of hire, the following meanings shall apply:
- “I, me, my, we, us, our” refers to Paper Bloom/René Ellis.
- “you, your, hirer” refers to the person making the booking/hire and named on the booking form.
- “your hire” refers to all arrangements regarding the hire of the items.
Paper Bloom reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. The terms and conditions applying to your hire will be those in place on the date that you make your reservation.
1. Property1.1 All equipment is the property of Paper Bloom and will remain so at all times throughout the hire.
1.2 By accepting these terms and conditions, you agree that you are responsible for the hire items at all times throughout the hire period, from collection of the items until they are returned to us.
2.1 A non-refundable deposit of 30% is due upon booking. Your items are not reserved for you until the deposit has been paid and payment has cleared. You will receive confirmation of booking and receipt of your deposit payment.
2.2 The remaining 70% balance is due 30 days before the date of hire. Should this not be received, your hire period will be canceled and your deposit will be retained by us.
2.3 A refundable damage security deposit is required to be paid 30 days before the date of hire. The value of this deposit will be confirmed at the time of booking. See section 6 for further details.
Unless arranged otherwise at the time of booking, all standard hires are based on a total period of 4 days.
4. Failure To Return Items4.1 If items are not returned before the end of the hire period, an overdue fee of £5 per day will be charged. Should the item not be returned 1 week after the end of the hire period, you will be liable for the full replacement value (this will be detailed in your contract) and we will exercise the right to pursue you legally for this cost.
4.2 If a late payment fee and/or full replacement payment is not received for an unreturned item, the debt will be passed on to a third party debt collection agency for collection.
5.1 All items will be provided in the best possible condition and should be returned in the same condition.
5.2 If an item you have booked is damaged or lost prior to your hire taking place you will be informed, and every effort will be made to replace the item like for like. If this is not possible or if this is unsatisfactory, you will be entitled to a refund for that item only.
6. Loss or Damage of Hire Items
6.1 You assume complete responsibility for loss of, or damage to the items you have hired from the time the equipment is collected until it is returned. Should an item be lost or damaged, you will be liable for the cost of replacing the lost/damaged item.
6.2 Items should be returned in the same condition as they were provided in. You will have an opportunity to inspect the items upon collection and items will be inspected by us upon return. Should the item not be in satisfactory condition, you will be liable to cover a fee to correct the damage. This fee will be taken from your damage deposit. If the repair/replacement fee is less than your damage deposit, the difference will be returned to you. If the repair/replacement costs more than the damage deposit, you will be invoiced for the difference.
Collection hours are between 09:00 and 17:00. A collection and return date for the item(s) will be agreed and provided to you via email.
8. Cancellation Fees8.1 Should you have to cancel your booking the following charges will apply:
- More than 90 days from hire period - 0% of the total cost
- Between 30 and 90 days from hire period - 30% of the total cost
- Less than 30 days from the hire period – 100% of total cost
8.2 Your 30% deposit will be used in event of any chargeable cancellations.
9. Payment9.1 Payment of your deposit is deemed an instruction of your booking.
9.2 Any additional payments incurred during or after the time of booking for issues such as lost or damaged items will be taken from your security deposit, should the payment exceed your security deposit payment will be requested via an invoice to be paid within 7 working days. Failure to do so will result in legal action to recover the outstanding payment.
You, the hirer, are responsible for injury or damage to animals, property, persons, or objects arising from the use of any equipment under hire. I shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss, damage or additional costs that may arise as a result of the use of my hire items.
11. Extreme CircumstancesI reserve the right to cancel the hire in extreme circumstances up to and including the day of collection. Should your hire be canceled, I will not be liable for any compensation or additional costs that you may incur as a result of the cancellation. A full refund will be issued.
12. LiabilityIf the full balance is not paid 30 days prior to the date of the booking, I hold no responsibility to provide the hire items and hold no liability in this circumstance.
